About Our Company and Founder
John DeWitt (Univ. Wis., J.D. 1975) began real estate development in about 1989. He practiced law immediately out of law school and began instructing business law at the Univ. Wisc. School of Business in 1976 where he has continued uninterrupted until today. In 1983 he left the active practice and ran a successful distribution business from 1983 to 1992. By 1989 he became active in real estate development, developing lots as well as a hotel and many apartment complexes.
In 1994 Windsor Development Corp. was created for the purpose of developing a large subdivision in what is now the Village of Windsor, Wisconsin. While Windsor Development continues to develop and sell real estate for its own account, DeWitt Real Estate Development is a trade name for its activities promoting the development and sale of land for other entities. The land development activities have been limited to Dane, Green and Jefferson counties in Wisconsin.
